Cake Flavours
I offer traditional rich fruit cake (the fruit is soaked in brandy for a week before baking), rich chocolate fudge cake with fudge filling, luscious lemon cake with lemon filling, carrot cake and Madeira cake with jam and butter cream. The fruit cake is covered with a layer of marzipan then with of choice of soft icing or royal icing. All other types of cake are covered in soft icing. We also offer white or dark chocolate covered chocolate cakes. Wedding cakes The cakes pictured on the web site are examples of my work: type of flowers, colours and decorations can all be changed to coordinate with your own theme and of course I can design a cake exclusively for you. I specialise in using unusual and elegant stands to support the tiers of the wedding cakes and also incorporate fairy lights into some of my designs. Wedding cakes can be made using any of the above cake flavours and you can choose to have each tier in a different type of cake, should you wish. The portions serving guide is approximate and based on a 2 x 1” finger (fruit cake) and 2.5 x1.5” finger (chocolate cake etc.) The fruit cake portion quantities do not include cutting the top/smallest tier, as it is traditional to keep it for the first anniversary or christening the first child. The other types of cakes are calculated by cutting all of the tiers. A very large wedding can require a lot of cake and it may be more economical to have a cutting cake as well as your decorated cake. The cutting cake would not be displayed, as it is not decorated.
